I am a PhD level therapist with decades of experience walking alongside individuals and couples through meaningful change.
My background includes over 20 years of clinical practice, 25 years practicing law, and my work as a professor training hundreds of students in the art and practice of therapy, all rooted in presence, clarity, and curiosity.
Growing up in a close-knit family in New York City gave me early insight into the complexities of identity, boundaries, and relational pressure. Later, my years in law deepened my understanding of how people carry their stories, especially in moments of conflict, transition, and loss. While I no longer practice law, that experience continues to shape my work today by offering a pragmatic and grounded lens for emotionally charged or high stakes conversations.
As both a therapist and an educator, I believe change becomes possible when we slow down and pay attention. Much of my practice centers on helping couples and individuals who feel weighed down by disconnection, change, or conflict. In our work together, I help clients make sense of their patterns, strengthen their inner stability, and move toward relationships and lives that feel more honest, connected, and aligned.
This is not about fixing. It is about learning to see clearly and live fully, even in the midst of struggle.
About Dr. Joe
My approach is grounded in the belief that healing and growth are possible for everyone, and that suffering does not have to define your life. I work with individuals and couples to build awareness, strengthen communication, and reconnect with what truly matters. My perspective is informed by traditions that value presence, emotional wisdom, and the relief that comes from letting go of what no longer serves.
I am developing Systemic Regulation Therapy SRT, an integrative approach that brings together nervous system regulation, relational safety, and awareness of the patterns that shape our lives. SRT holds that couples grow not only through insight or better communication but through the restoration of emotional and physiological regulation within the relational system. When partners feel regulated, they begin to experience each other as safe and responsive, which supports renewed closeness and stronger bonds.
For couples, this work focuses on reconnecting, rebuilding trust, and approaching the relationship with clarity and understanding. For individuals, it centers on creating stability, easing anxiety and self-doubt, and softening patterns that create suffering. Therapy becomes a space to strengthen resilience and cultivate the self-awareness needed to meet life as it is, with greater presence and steadiness.
Whether you come alone or with a partner, this is a place to speak openly without fear or judgment, find clarity in your life as it unfolds, and begin letting go of the patterns that cause you to suffer.
